Restaurant Mak Yah is located near the Ratchathewi station. Exit toward Thanon Phetchaburi (use exit on left side) then you'll go downstairs by 7-11. across the intersection go straight - turn left and go down about 3 mins walk and it will be right there. it's also near the mosque so it's kinda convenient to pray and all..
it's clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, there's even a concerned nenek watching us just in case we need anything. unfortunately she doesn't speak anything but Thai. but we appreciate it anyways :) we love the food served soooo much so we went there for our birthday celebration :)
it's hard to find, even with the directions given all over the internet. but we're lucky we saw a muslim lady (she was wearing tudung). she didn't speak english but once we mentioned the name Mak Yah, she was like.. ohhh Mak Yah.. and she actually showed us the restaurant. haha. :) very helpful la Bangkok people ni. i love it..
they serve Malay-Pattani food.. basically what you can find here la kot.. but the taste.. alahaii.. excellente lah.. teringat the thai restaurant elly and i went to in florida.. near key largo. damn jumping squids.. anyways, the food here is kinda spicy.. but thai food has always been spicy la kan?
i love the mango kerabu, and also there's a dish called Thai fish cake. hehe.. suka wehh... the fish tho not so fresh, but was delicious and the Thai spices helped as much :)
so go to Bangkok and try it lah :)
