there's this restaurant in bangi that i'd sometimes go for breakfast. it's in Seksyen 8, Bandar Baru Bangi, and it's called Restoran Sharifah. when they first opened, about 2 years ago, i never thought i'd have anything here. the waiters are not cute enough. the restaurant itself is not lively like other restaurants at the area (read: Restoran Limau Nipis). now i think i prefer the food here. i guess the taste somewhat reminds me of home. i especially love their milo ais, because it's really thick milo, not the typical very cair and tawar milo served in most tomyam restaurants. i don't typically have other meals here.. but i love the variety of food they serve during breakfast, but i'd normally go for their roti or nasi lemak.. heheh.. it's not very pricey. the service is lousy but the food is boleh tahan. i'd give it a 3 star out of 5. :)
nasi lemak paru... yummy..
nescafe 'o ais
roti kosong.. the kuah dhal is so sedap.. sehingga menjilat jari..
This blog is especially dedicated for makan places i went to.. Caution: It may contain some explicit description of food. And you may leave this site feeling hungry :)

UNITEN Food Court: Izzat Corner
one of the places i often go for breakfast is izzat corner at UNITEN food court. why? 1. convenience, 2. food selection 3. service 4. the bihun sup is to die for and finally 5. it's the nearest place with parking lot that serves roti canai.
almost every morning normi, kak ina and i would take turns driving to the food court which is about 1 km away. i think it's not even 1 km, unless u drive around the roundabout a few times and you count the mileage to get back to the office. nevertheless we still drive ourselves there. hehehe.. no wonder i gain more weight the past year. :(
usually i'd order the roti kosong and teh ais. its teh tarik is very sweet, much to my liking. normi hates it tho. she prefers nescafe ais or neslo ais, paired with roti kosong. other times, bihun sup, nasi lemak + rendang daging/sambal kerang, roti tampal and roti planta would be our choices.
price wise pun ok. this is probably due to the fact that their main customers are UNITEN students. there are also other stalls there.. only i seldom go to the other stalls. they don't know me enough. hahaha.. besides i'm already considered a regular at izzat.. proof? emm.. they can list down all the menu that i'd normally get... hehe..

Rasa Alamanda, Putrajaya II
I haven't been able to eat at many places the past few months cause been skipping lunch or have really late lunches lately. Tons of work to do larr.. not diet arrr...
Anyway, last Friday had a trip to Alamanda for lunch. I was really tired of having lunch at the fast food chains, so I took my friends for lunch at Rasa, Alamanda... yepp.. again.. There are so many stalls to try.. Since last time, the three of us, Nomie, Kak Ina and I, had lunch at the Kelantan and Noodles stall, this time we tried different stalls, and dishes.
Nomie opted for curry noodles at the noodles stall next to the nasi kandar stall. Kak Ina had mee hoon sup from the same stall. (I think last time, kak ina had bakso from the other noodle stall..) While yours truly bought nasi lemak from the.. you guessed it...nasi lemak stall. The curry noodle was awful, according to nomie. the kuah was really cair.. the isi lautan kurang sedap.. I believe, mon warned me about the curry noodles.. kak ina's mee hoon soup was ok. But she finished it up, maybe it's good la jugak...My nasi lemak was delicious. I had the nasi lemak + ayam rendang.. for RM4.50. It's two thumbs up from me.. I also had Mango juice priced at RM3.90, it's worth every sen. :)

happy birthday miji...
hehehe... happy birthday cik ahmad... wishing you and ct and baby imran well till years to come. we celebrated over lunch. couldn't get hold of nomie, just the two of us, cik ahmad and me. we had lunch at san fancisco pizza. it's a really nice place. price wise ok. i like the smell of the restaurant, smells like pizza. hehehe... we ordered a regular pizza.. couldn't recall the name. and i totally forgotten to take photos of the pizza we ordered. but it's one of those chef recommended pizzas, and it's chicken salami, with huge tomatoes and peppers, both red and green, on top. the pizza sauce is really nice. the good thing about SF pizzas is that they are not greasy. the place is actually located at section 7, bb bangi (right in front of billion bangi, near gulai kawah)
there's a variety of different pizzas offered, and pasta. but since the smell of the place was like pizza, i decided to try the pizzas. i told him he could order more, he wouldn't. tak kisah la ek. since it's his birthday and all, i told him to order a slice of cake too... i was still full from breakfast.. he ordered a marbled cheese cake. i asked the waiter to also put a candle as today's cik ahmad's birthday. hehehhe... poor guy was embarrased. but since i insisted, cik ahmad had to oblige.
blushing cik ahmad
the beverages not bad. i had the lime special.. a concoction of sprite, lime juice and asam boi. delicious! cik ahmad got himself a strawberry shake or something.

Our drinks
price wise.... i don't think i can afford to eat there every day. the ambience, the services and the food are worth every penny you're spending there. the cheesecake.. you should try it! it's really nice and hard, but you put it in your mouth, the cheese cake just melts away. in fact, the best cheese cake i ever had. the pizza is ok... the service is great. they served us coffee on the house just for celebrating cik ahmad's birthday there. even tho we didn't order much. i love the lime juice... i was stunned at first.... didn't expect the sprite to be added, but it actually gave a nice sweet taste to the sour lime and asam boi.
overall it's a nice experience. for that i give 2 thumbs up. :)
the marbled cheese cake that drove us crazy.. hehehe

Rasa Alamanda, Putrajaya
It's been so long since I last made an entry here at Makan Place. Well, I haven't been eating out lately, for several reasons. However, I did this afternoon at Alamanda's own food court, RASA.
This is the second time I've been here at Rasa. Usually I'd opt for fast food restaurants. The first time I came to Rasa, I had some curry noodles. Omigod.. it was horrendous. Somebody ought to knock the cook in the head. The curry was err... cair. Not many condiments. The experience was horrific. But, Kak Yati told us about its delicious Bakso and Nasi Kerabu. And I was intrigued.
Kak Yati had Bakso. Nomie had Nasi Dagang, while I had Nasi Kerabu, and Carrot Juice. The food was nice but the carrot juice was wayyyy tooo sweet. Nasi Kerabu was kinda expensive. Maybe because I had Nasi Kerabu with ayam kampung goreng and colok sumbat. Nomie had nasi dagang with ikan tongkol, and acar. I think I even saw boiled egg in her plate. The bakso (not sure if it's really that good, but Kak Yati finished it off) didn't have so much meat in it. I'd say the Bakso is really ... damn good if it has loads and loads of meat, and stuff inside.
I've taken all the photos. Nasi Kerabu costs RM6.50 (with chicken and colok). Carrot juice was RM3.50. Not sure of the others. But around RM3-5.00.
Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Dagang are available at Kelantan stall. Bakso, at Mee-Noodles.

Putrajaya Precint 8
Had breakfast at Putrajaya, 8th Precinct this morning with Kak Ina. I was craving for some nasi kerabu with cili sumbat and ikan goreng tepung. However, the nasi kerabu set is only available on weekends. :( Too bad. Luckily I'm not pregnant. Meleleh je air liur baby nanti. Hehhee..
Anyway, since we're already there, might as well we had our breakfast there. I had nasi dagang with kari ikan tongkol and jelatah + teh ais. Kak Ina bought laksam and teh tarik. Sedap... They also sell nasi lemak and so many different lauks. I think I saw nasi lemak bungkus as well. I think they named their gerai "Selera Pantai Timur". Appropriately named. Although I didn't try Laksam this morning. It looked delicious. (didn't take the photo of laksam though. Kak Ina finished it off before I had the chance to)
This is what I paid RM3.50 for this morning. It was worth it. Delicious, and it truly is. I especially love the kari ikan tongkol. The fish is fleshy but the curry really made it through.
The gerai is no. 2 from the right side of the food court. The food court is a double storey building, located at 8th Precinct Putrajaya, next to the school, near the fish market, and I believe there's a small library at the back. There are many other gerais there. Can find western food for lunch and dinner. I believe only the ground floor is opened for business in the morning. I can't wait til saturday to have their nasi kerabu specials. :)

Gulai Kawah
Just had lunch at Nomi's and my new favorite restaurant.. especially when starved. Gulai Kawah. The restaurant, I think just opened a couple of months ago at Section 8, Bandar Baru Bangi. If you are familiar with Bangi area, then the restaurant is opposite of Bangunan PKNS Bangi.
My personal opinion, if you're looking for a wholesome lunch, in other words, u're famished, then you'd be glad Gulai Kawah is around the corner.
Nomi had its specialty gulai daging, and sayur pucuk paku... and had limau ais for RM6.20.
While I had sayur kacang dengan daging (more like daging dengan sayur kacang), ayam masak merah and pajeri nenas, and sirap limau. It costs me RM6.20. (I guess the cashier likes me)
ps: the pictures may not be as good as it tastes.. :D. Took the pictures using my Nokia 6230.

My baby blog..
I'm setting up this new blog to cerita cerita about my favorite lunch places in Bandar Baru Bangi. I'll try to update this blog as frequently as possible. And include photos of the food and the shops. Maybe a little description of how to get there. If you happen to know a good place to have lunch here in Bangi, feel free to suggest them for me to try.
